Mobileforce provides basic version control through its Release action, which allows you to continue to edit and develop a form without affecting the use of the form in the field.
As a result of this version control, when you create a form in the Forms Publisher, it is not automatically visibile in Mobileforce FSM. It is only visible after you release the form.
Mobileforce suggests that you follow the following three steps when you are choosing to publish a form, so * users can interact with it.
- Select the location where users are to access the form.
- Determine the icon associated with the form in Mobileforce FSM.
- Release the latest version of the form.
Additionally, Mobileforce recommends that you use access control to select one or more users who will review and test the form before you allow general users to submit the form.
Select the Form Location
By default, Mobileforce FSM provides multiple locations where users can access the specified form.
Open the desired form, and from the General tab, ensure that Manage Screen is set to Yes.
Click the Parent Folder dropdown list and select the desired location (for example, CPQ, Field Service Management and Connected Portal Experience > Field Service > Forms)
Click Save when finished.
Determine the Form Icon
To better personalize the form, you can select an icon that is to be displayed in the Mobileforce FSM menu at the location specified.
Open the desired form, and from the General tab, locate the Screen Icon field. From here you can do one of the following:
Enter a web address
Enter the web address (URL) of the icon in the Screen Icon field, and press ENTER.
Select an existing icon
Click the blank image icon to open the Select an Image page.
You can review icons from the two provided tabs:
App Specific Images displays all of the graphics that have been uploaded to your Mobileforce application.
Mobileforce Stock Images displays the provided icons and graphics from Mobileforce.
Click to highlight the desired icon, and click Select to add it to the form, replacing the blank image icon.
Upload an icon
Click the blank image icon to open the Select an Image page.
Click the Upload button to open the Upload Image window. Select a graphic from your local file system, and click Upload to add it to the App Specific Images tab.
Ensure that the icon is highlighted, and click Select to add it to the form, replacing the blank image icon.
Release the Form
When you have made all of the desired changes to the form, click Release.
From the Update DB Schema window, ensure that the name of the app and the database table name are accurate, and click Update.
When finished:
- The Last Modified Date and Released Version are updated to reflect your changes.
- Any saved updates to the form from the Forms Publisher will create a new, unpublished, version of the form that increases the value in the Version column.
- The form is available from the selected location to the users specified in Access Control.
