Managing Inventory Transactions
The Inventory transactions table and page allows users to update information regarding inventory items.
Inventory Transactions are used by the following roles:
- Agents, or other users in an organization responsible for inventory, specify when inventory items are moved or stored in a new location.
- Technicians specify when inventory items are borrowed or used for a service task.
The Inventory transactions table can be viewed as a table from the Inventory page of the associated inventory item. Additionally, you can click the button to open the table in a new window.
Create new Inventory Transaction
From the Inventory Transactions table, click the button to create a new transaction.
Enter the following information and click .
Name:
Enter an appropriate name for the inventory transaction. Typically, this must match a standard format for your organization.
Transaction Type:
Click the dropdown list and select the desired type that provides a high-level description of the transaction. Mobileforce provides the following default values:
- Borrowed for a Service Task
- Returned to Warehouse
- Stored on Fleet
- Used in a Service Task
- Scrapped or Discarded
- Lost or Misplaced
- Transferred to another Warehouse
Transaction Types cannot be modified by admins. If your organization required modifications to the list of Transaction Types, please contact Mobileforce Support.
Inventory:
Lists the parent inventory item.
Fleet:
Click the dropdown list and select the Fleet item associated with the transaction. (For example, if a piece of equipment is now located on a specific truck in your fleet.)

Service Task:
Click the dropdown list and select the service task to be associated with the inventory transaction.
User:
Lists the Mobileforce user who is creating the transaction.
Quantity:
Enter the number of units of the inventory used in the transaction.
Comments:
Enter any applicable notes or information required by the transaction.
Review or edit Inventory Transactions
Click the button to review or edit an exiting transaction.
- To edit the transaction, click the
button.
- To edit an individual field for the transaction, click the
button for the field and then update it.
